The short version: we collect only what we need to run this site and send the newsletter you ask for. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can access, correct or delete your data at any time by emailing [email protected].
Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how My Roadster ("My Roadster," "we," "us" or "our") collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you visit my-roadster.us (the "Site"), join our club or newsletter, or contact us. My Roadster is an independent enthusiast publication and is not affiliated with any vehicle manufacturer.
By using the Site you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Club and newsletter sign-up: first name, email address, and optionally your state and whether you own, are shopping for, or are dreaming about a roadster.
- Communications: the content of emails or messages you send us and your contact details.
- Privacy requests: information needed to verify and respond to a request to exercise your rights.
Information collected automatically
- Technical and log data: IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed and the date and time of your visit. Our hosting provider records this in standard server logs for security and reliability.
- Local storage: a small record of your cookie choices (see our Cookie Policy).
- Optional analytics: only if you opt in, aggregated information about how the Site is used.
Information we do not collect
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as government ID numbers, financial account details, precise geolocation, health data or biometric data). Please do not send it to us.
How we use information
- To provide, operate, secure and maintain the Site;
- To send the newsletter, route letters and meetup announcements you requested, and to manage your subscription;
- To respond to your questions, feedback and privacy requests;
- With your consent, to understand in aggregate how the Site is used so we can improve it;
- To detect, prevent and address fraud, spam, abuse and security incidents;
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence models.
Legal bases for visitors outside the U.S.
The Site is intended for visitors in the United States. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another region with similar laws, we rely on the following legal bases: consent (newsletter, optional analytics and marketing technologies); legitimate interests (operating and securing the Site and responding to messages); and legal obligation (where we must keep or disclose information by law). You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use strictly necessary browser storage to remember your privacy choices. Optional analytics or marketing technologies are used only after you opt in through our cookie banner or . Our fonts are hosted on our own servers, so your browser does not contact third-party font services. For details, see our Cookie Policy.
How we disclose information
We disclose personal information only as described below:
- Service providers that act on our behalf under contracts that restrict their use of your data — for example, website hosting, email delivery and newsletter management, and (only with your consent) analytics.
- Legal and safety: when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of My Roadster, our users or the public.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to this policy's protections.
- With your consent or at your direction.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and similar state laws. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months.
If we ever introduce marketing technologies that could be considered a sale or sharing, they will stay off unless you opt in, and you can opt out at any time by:
- Opening and turning off "Marketing";
- Enabling a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser; or
- Emailing [email protected] with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share."
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. When your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising for that browser, and marketing technologies remain disabled.
Because there is no common industry standard for "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser signals, we do not respond to DNT signals separately. GPC remains fully supported.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we hold about you, and receive a portable copy;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete personal information we collected from you;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising and certain profiling;
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect it);
- Withdraw consent at any time, including by unsubscribing from emails; and
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
How to submit a request
Email [email protected] and tell us which right you want to exercise. To protect your data, we will verify your request by confirming control of the email address associated with your information. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time (up to an additional 45 days), we will tell you why.
Authorized agents
You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require the agent to provide your signed written permission and may ask you to verify your identity directly with us.
Appeals
If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing [email protected] with the subject "Privacy Appeal." We will respond within the time required by your state's law (typically 45–60 days). If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may contact your state Attorney General.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
International visitors
The Site is operated in the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to, stored and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Third-party links
The Site may link to websites we do not control, such as government road-information pages. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage you to review them.
Email communications
We send marketing emails only to people who opt in. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link and identifies My Roadster as the sender, consistent with the CAN-SPAM Act. We may still send non-promotional messages related to a request you made.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, give notice on the Site or by email before the changes take effect.
